Husband stuck in Ulster sinkhole was trying to free wife
A couple in the Shandaken hamlet of Chichester are doing fine after being rescued from a muddy sinkhole Sunday night, shortly after 6 p.m. According to neighbors, Jane Hofverberg fell into a sinkhole near her property on Route 214, and when her husband Ulf tried to help her out, he wound up slipping in as well.
