Election buzz is 'quiet' in Lowell

Full story: Lowell Sun

A light rain fell over a quiet city Saturday morning. With the exception of City Council candidates Bill Martin and Paul Belley and their supporters holding signs at the intersection of Bridge Street and the VFW Highway, there were few indicators that a citywide election was just around the corner.

Freddy Bahou is the only candidate for gr. lowell vocational school commitee that will be able to vote on ALL of the issues. ALL other candidates have mulptiple conflicts of interest. The voke is bleeding money and there are no changes in sight, without new ideas and fresh blood on that commitee.

We deserve what we get. Drag your friends and family to the polls. Clean Sweep!! Until term limits are imposed, never vote for an incumbent.

This is needed from local to national elections, don't elect career polititians.

"BULL!!!! Has all the looks of some Liberal organization that is sore because they can't win an election fair and square.Do anything they can to get minorities and left wing radicals in office."

Nothing could be further from the truth - although the race is non-partisan, the majority of the endorsees are registered unenrolled or Republican - not left wing by a long shot!

people make mistakes on their taxes all of the time, don't make it sound like he doesnt pay taxes and as far as the "gambling" why dont you show proof, if he was found guilty of that, dont you think he would lose ownership of his business?

I’ll say upfront that I had no plans to vote yes on question 1. I don’t think it’s the answer. If I was going to vote in favor of it, they would have just lost my vote. I got an automatic call from One Lowell telling me how wonderful the program is and that I should vote for it. The kicker is that the caller ID was from Community Teamwork. I immediately called the number and spoke to a guy who was very rude and said he had no idea why that was the caller ID.“Must have been an old CTI #”… yeah right! CTI phones have no business being used by One Lowell to promote their agenda. I then asked to speak with Victoria and he hung up on me.

Come on. This vote stealing plan is endorsed by every liberal out there. Niki, Atty. Gallagher...please.
What is American about taking a vote for one person and giving it to another?
First liberals wanted to redistribute our money. Now they want to do the same thing with our votes.

Does it even matter to you that Lowell used to used this exact form of voting until the right wing fascists got rid of it during the Red Scare in the 50's? I am guessing that the answer is no.

Does it matter to you at all that the Federal government has outlawed the type of at-large voting we have now for Federal elections? Again, I'm guessing no.

You're just a knee jerk, non-thinking neanderthal. That's what I'm guessing.

I am not a Kazanjian fan, but that site is pretty weak and it leaves off many other wrong doings by Kazanjian including snubbing his nose at the zoning board for the project he did not so long ago where Old Mother Hubbard used to be (off Rogers St)...He also used his influence on the Dunkin Donut at Dutton/Fletcher St. He also voted against artist lofts, because he didn't want them in his business neighborhood (my guess can only be because they would have camped out all day at his business painting pictures of city officials sleeping on city time).

The bottom line is this guy is a complete fraud, but i don't think that website alone will make him lose an election.

See all you smug self righteous bloggers at Kazanjian's victory party
tommorrow night..... He will win and all you bloggers can whine since you are all part of the reason he will get re elected..... You have gone too far trying to ruin this man's reputation before he even has been convicted of any wrong doing.....

Actually, it would be more accurate to say "not guilty until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt." The old adage you use doesn't prove that Kazanjian isn't a criminal; he is. He just hasn't been convicted yet. Plenty of time for that after the indictment.

The best line of the night at the East End Club Candidates Night on Election Eve was delivered by “Karnac the Magnificent” who looked and sounded a lot like Councilor Rodney Elliot under those robes……..The answer was:“A skunk at the picnic”. The question was “What will Lynn Lupien be if she shows up election night at the Blue Shamrock?” It brought down the house!!!

Use spell check will you! It's free. Open a word document, and write what you have to. Click on SPELL CHECK. Highlight your rambling sentence which was corrected by Spell Check, right click, copy, paste...simple as that. Doesn't Kazanjian at the least give you tuition reimbursement?

sla you might like to know that newspapers have a thing called editorials. They are opinions. usually written by editors. Not a new thing by any means and most newspapers have them.
