These guys just got out of prison and were placed in the halfway house. They have done their time. It's just disappointing for them to finally get out of prison and then find out that the halfway house has more rules to abide by than prison did. It's a bummer for guys getting out of prison but they have to follow the rules. The hardest thing right now is the lack of work for people getting out of prison. That means they don't get to leave and no extra rights are given. The first thing the halfway house wants you to get and job and then they reward you with some extra freedom. But if there are jobs available, the halfway house become a hellhouse.

Psyche, you may well be right about the conditions at the halfway house, but walking away and not coming back is a sure ticket back to what they just finished. A little more effort to move forward, tough as it might be in the short term, is better than going out and doing something stupid, only to land back in jail. Maybe the halfway house should have a work relationship with the county or state to do some kind of jobs that are needed, but which others won't hire on to do, so that they can get a work history started and get out. Just a thought.

if these dirt bags were sincere about making their lives better maybe they should begin by following rules, yep more rules than most, but lets face it, they broke a bunch to get to where they are. No jobs? Bull, I read the paper, there is always a burger to be cooked, a ditch to be dug or a can to be cleaned, these rats are convicts, they should have learned while they were trading their buts for ciggs how to survive in the real world.

Are you aware that your name calling of human beings marks you as lower than the names you called them? There are just some people who can't see anything better than prison. Roof over your head, food in your belly.
It must be hard to walk out of those kinds of comforts and be told to get a job and support yourself after they have been supported for so long.
Glad that they are all going back to where they wanted to be.

As humans we label everything, so lets be honest and just call things what they are, too sensitive for that?
