A winter storm warning remains in effect for Steele County, as well as a large portion of central and south central Minnesota, the National Weather Service in Chanhassen reported Monday morning.

Accident leaves 1 dead

One man is dead after a snowmobile accident Thursday afternoon. Steele County Sheriff Gary Ringhofer said a 64-year old man died after the snowmobile he was on was struck by a truck.
