Press release from the Floyd County Sheriff's Office: On Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 1500 hours, Deputy Sheriff Daniel Kirby resigned from his employment with The Floyd County Sheriff's Office.

The Family Care Center at 1014 West Main St. includes a Thrift Store open to the public Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Family Care Center helps others by giving clothing, food and possibly hope to families in their time of need.

The Cherokee County Public Library Children's Story Time Diaper Brigade will be held at 9 a.m. The program is flexible and children of all ages are welcome.
