For years, a lack of federal funding has put the Lewis and Clark Water project behind schedule, but now money from the federal government is putting the water system on the fast track.

A $56.5 million federal stimulus grant to the Lewis & Clark Regional Water project will accelerate construction by two years and ensure more members will receive water by 2012, according to Executive Director Troy Larson.
