VFW speech contest winners honored on Veterans Day

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9624 of Cedarpines Park recognized Veteran's Day by announcing the five winners of their annual speech contests for high school and middle school students, as well as respectfully retiring many torn or tattered American flags in a solemn ceremony.

Wanted burglar surrenders

Crestline resident Karl Richard Eimers, 41, wanted by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department for residential burglary, grand theft and possession of stolen property, surrendered himself to authorities at the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station on Monday evening.
