2 Adults, Boy, 8, Killed In Cathedral City Crash

An 8-year-old boy was one of three people fatally injured in a collision Sunday just north of Cathedral City, coroner's officials said on Monday.

Landy Bergfield, 8, of Desert Hot Springs, was riding in a minivan that was struck head-on by a sedan about 2:20 p.m. Sunday on Mountain View Road, less than half a mile north of Varner Road, coroner's officials said.

The female driver of the sedan and a male passenger in the sedan were pronounced dead at 2:33 p.m. at the crash scene, coroner's officials said.

Just wanted to say how sorry i am to Aaron's parents. I had an opportunity to work with Aaron for a short time. He was a good kid trying to make better for himself. He will be missed.
