Summer travelers might want to take in the Castleton Festival, a month of outstanding operas , musicals and concerts taking place June 22-July 22 in Rappahannock County .

More than 20 students from the Center for the Arts in Manassas recently participated in a series of operas at the Castleton Festival in Rappahannock County.

The most atmospheric way to experience the Castleton Festival, which opens Saturday, is to travel down to Virginia's Rappahannock County and catch opera productions or orchestra concerts on the spacious, idyllic estate of celebrated conductor Lorin Maazel.

Route 15 was closed just south of Route 50 for one hour Monday evening when a 52-year-old Herndon man riding a 2004 motorcycle south on Route 15 crashed into the back of a 2002 Lexus RX350.
