Emery County voters went to the polls on Nov. 3 to decide a number of mayoral and city council races.

At the October Huntington City Council meeting, a presentation by Daniel Pacheco, a United States census specialist, about the 2010 census and a presentation by Jacob Sharp, head of Castle Valley Special Service District, about the upcoming vote on the bond vote highlighted the council meeting.

The Grand County Planning and Zoning Commission last week rebuffed a staff recommendation to recommend approval of a conditional use permit application for Westwater Farms to the Grand County Council.

A public hearing was held at the Sept. 22 meeting of the Emery County Commission.

The Huntington City Council last Wednesday night approved the hiring of Ronni Torre as the new Huntington City recorder.
