A possible dog fighting organization is raided in Hayti Heights.

I hope these people are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!! This needs to stop. Make an example out of them and send them to jail like the football player Michael Vick! This is so pathetic that people do this. Dogs can't help what their owners do with them, like fighting them. I've heard that two already had to be put down. I'm so mad and sad! Stop this dog fighting!

I know, 1 of those dogs was stolen from my son's yard & was confiscated from this raid. She was my grandcildren's pet & now that she has been made to fight or defend herself we are afraid to let the children around her for fear she may still be in defense mode. I too am very angry about this, but what makes me even angrier is the little boy that told the story (the fighters son) was beaten pretty severly by grown men with pipes for telling. I did not see this or I would file a complaint with DFS. you know if the will do this to their own son that they could care less about the lives of those poor dogs, I just hope thru time & luv & compassion she can erase those memories & be a great friend to my grand-children again...& I fear that these men will try to seek revenge & my son & his family Are my life. All I have to say if they try to do anything to my family for their own ignorance I will pursue the maximum penalty, even if it takes the rest of my life...wish there were more people like u in the world!

HOw did your son get his dog back? Has it been checked out by a vet? And how can we help the young man who has come forward to help? THis sounds like a deeply bad group of people. I am glad your son got his dog back and I hope she heals. OMG this sounds so horrible to be happening in our area.

I hope the other dogs are okay. I heard one had to be put down, those bad men are responsible for this I hope that MIke Hazel certainly prosecutes them for this

I saw her on tv. She is a beautiful dog! I hope she will forget and learn to trust humans again! This makes me sick to think about it! I am so very angry and outraged that people can do such stupid things.

What is Carol Wilcox doing in Hayti Heights anyway? She is with the Caruthersville humane society. She isn't the police and the article says "bite marks consistent with dog fighting" that doesn't mean the dogs were fought. Maybe the police need to pull her over and give her a DWI when she is out driving around drunk looking for these poor abused animals on her crusaded.

i have a pit who hs been raised as a baby. he plays with my grandchildren and even sleeps beside them. it's people like you who have given these dogs bad names. people who fight dogs should have to stand and fight each other until their almost dead

i have a pit who has been raised as one of the family and would never harm anyone. but people like this are the ones who gives these dogs bad names. maybe they should be made to fight for their lives and let people like me sit and watch.

I agree with you completely, pit lover. It's the way they are raised. The people that fight animals deserve at the very most to be able to fight for their lives while having us watch... I don't know if I agree with them even having the opportunity to fight back... should just sick a lion on 'em...

I thoroughly agree.....she is into everyone's business all the time. However....just wait...just wait and see........her day will come and HER PERSONAL BUSINESS will be PUBLIC whether its true or not and SHE will get a dose of her own medicine and SEE what kind of person she really is. Now is someone going to do something to her? I think not. BUT her day will come! NO ONE is perfect and everyone has skeletons in their closet. I pray for her because she will need it.
