New toys and new or lightly-worn winter jackets, hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, snow pants and boots are being collected by Smith Chiropractic Clinic for needy children and the Toys for Tots campaign through Dec.

A 57-year-old Carsonville man took police on a chase Tuesday afternoon after refusing to be pulled over, according to a statement from the Croswell Police Department.

A 30-year-old man and his 53-year-old live-in girlfriend each were charged with five felonies Tuesday in connection with copper wire thefts from numerous Exelon Wind construction sites in northern Sanilac County.

An investigation that began this January into copper wire thefts throughout the Blue Water Area has led to the arrest of a Carsonville couple.
