The man who was allegedly responsible for a bank robbery which prompted the lockdown of several schools and whose possitble sighting put a university on alert turned himself in Sunday.

According to Fairfield County Sheriff Dave Phalen, Billy J. Caudill, 43, turned himself in to the sheriff's office Sunday at about 1:40 p.m. Caudill is suspected in the armed robbery of at the People's Bank at 55 N. High St.

Ohio University campus police on Friday said that a threat was over after an alleged bank robber was spotted on campus Thursday night.

ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University campus police have issued a campus alert after a man wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Carroll, Ohio is spotted near campus.

According to the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office, the robbery occurred at the People's Bank at 55 N. High St.
