Billy Page leaves Ruidoso for 'Zozo

Has Carrizozo had a winning tradition? Fill me in on this, I guess I've missed some of the important wins.

I think the boys won district in basketball and the boys were second in state this past season in track. Sounds like winning to me.

Well, sorry. I just never get any news about Carrizozo. The Alamogordo paper never prints anything about them.

Being non competitive in a state basketball tourney and winning second place in a track meet is not a tradition of winning.

I'm pretty sure at some point the article should be updated to eliminate the words "breaking news." It's kind of like when the Motel 6 sign between Ruidoso and Alamogordo read "brand new" for the first five years it was up.

Billy Page is a good man. Ruidoso just lost-out on a great coach. It's amazing that Bordie Williams and Ronnie Maskew have been able to take it this long. Ruidoso took their "athletic period" away from Cooper Hendersen....look at what he did for Artesia? Billy tells his players and athletes to be students first, role models from within the community and teaches them how to set an example. Good luck on your future endevers Billy!!!

WE are happy he moved his balls to Carrizozo. We need a coach that says studies first. Mebbe he can clear the meth out of the locker room.

Is Billy gay? Or at least able to get along with the gay community members that exist within this schools sports programs? That may not seem like a logical question in this thread, but the answer to it can make a big difference in how long he lasts down here. Who has left Carrizozo to make an opening for him?

If Billy really does believe in studies first and sports second, then he will be doing himself a favor if he never comes here at all. Decent leaders both in the school itself and the sports programs dont last long here. In Carrizozo its not what you know or what lengths you are willing to go to to do a good job, its WHO you know and how well you can suck up to the right people. Parents and students dont matter in this town and that has been proven over and over again within that school system and people here know it. Until this school system is overhauled from the top to bottom, new hires should be prepared to give up their dignity and self respect if they want to stay here.

You would love for the people in this community to just forget about things like the communty wide cry to keep mister Baron, and Harkey telling justifiably concerned parents that if they couldnt PROVE something he didnt even want to hear about it, let alone check it out or coach ventura hurting the kids, by making them try and press 3 times there body weight, or many other things I could truthfully tell you. Or maybe you dont want people to know about the current coach (last I knew)who intentionally had my daughter break her leg after I forbid her to allow the child to run? Coach told me that my daughter HAD to run because nobody else could do it. I told the coach she could not and would not run that race and what was going to happen, if it hadnt already happened, if she did. Nevermind that she was in dire pain and had both legs buried under large garbage bags of ice to numb the pain enough to allow her to be able to run the race. Nevbermind all the rules and policies and laws designed to protect the children, the ONLY thing that mattered was winning that race, which they did, because coach not only allowed , but encouraged her to do it the second my back was turned. Hip Hip HOORAY!!! She should have been fired on the spot but she wasnt and my story is not the only one either. Maybe you dont know some of the things myself and other parents know, but the people responsible for many things that hurt this communities children and the schools reputation are still here. Either still here or have been forgiven for their wrong doings and allowed to come back and probably will be allowed to do it again. YEP! You would love for me to shut up and go away right along with all the other people who know the same things I do. Problem with that is by not speaking out, the people who know these truths and stay quiet are allowing other kids to be hurt in the same old ways this school system is famous for. I have heard that things are improving, but until you can prove to me that the same old people wont do the same old things then its the same old story in my book. And now we got a guy who is reported to care about the KIDS first coming into our system and hoping to make a difference? Yeah Right! By the way. its spelled BOLOGNA and you are the one spouting it, not me.

Rose, it is comforting to know your rants are just as senseless as ever and while sometimes you do have an occasional point of logic in what you say, your method of delivery has people's eyes and ears glazed over before you get to paragraph two.

Your children are gone from school,you have no dog in that fight and your above rant is old history.(as well as it is only part truth). It has NO bearing on what can be done in the hear and now. Your access to the school grounds was denied long ago over your methods, to the frequent public embarrassment of your daughter. You and your tirades are not yet forgotten.

You are simply LOOKING for trouble. You are taking something you HEARD and deciding it may or may not be a good thing but until someone PROVES it to YOU, it's the same old story.

Give me one reason why anybody at the school has to prove anything to you Rose.

I've seen you in the office at the school and you, by golly, just knew something was going on, and you by golly, were going to find out what it was. You are out of your area of "need to know" Rose.
