Wildcats WIN!!!

Not by much but it is still a win!

Coach Brinkley and his coaches passed on great plays to the defense and offense to the Wildcats. Great plays that made Carrizo Springs get ahead and finally making the Cowboys to fail their last attempt for the 3-point field goal.

After the failed 3-point attempt by the Cotulla Cowboys to get ahead in the 4th quarter, the Carrizo Springs Wildcats win with a final score of 13 to 12 against the Cotulla Cowboys.

Cotulla - Cowboys: 12
@ Carrizo Springs - Wildcats: 13
Game ended at 9:48PM

Congratulations to the Carrizo Springs Wildcats!
Great job guys!

Wildcats begin their season with a loss

The Carrizo Springs Wildcats will leave in disappointment after a long game playing against the Uvalde Coyote's.

The 104.9 FM Coyote radio station's game commentator did state, not exact quote, (even though the Wildcats drove out to Uvalde to play a game and losing it, the Wildcats played with great "sportsmanship" and played a "well-contested" game overall.)

Though the Carrizo Springs Wildcats might have lost this game, they had the support of hundreds of Carrizo Springs Wildcat fans in the Uvalde stadium visitor's section. Nearly the entire visitor section was filled by Wildcat fans. This was according to the 104.9 FM game commentator.

Final score:
Carrizo Springs: 0
@ Uvalde: 38
Game ended at 9:48PM

Wildcat pride all the way!

Out with the old, in with the new!!!

Today was the day of the demolition of the old Church's on North 1st St. Demolition was fast, brutal, and well fast!

The older Church's closed down on the 18th of August and the new Church's opened next to the old one on the 20th of August. And yes, the new one is open for business.

The Javelin team also caught on to the story, before we could though. So keep tuned on Carrizo Springs Javelin's website or look for that story on next week's paper.

Minimum wage goes up to $6.55 cents today

If you haven't heard, July 24, 2008 is the day that the federal minimum wage goes up.

Texas is part of the few states that doesn't have it's own wage that is higher than the federal wage. So that means that when the US federal minimum wage goes up, Texas' minimum wage goes up.

The next minimum wage boost will happen July 24, 2009. That boost will go up another 0.70 cents from $6.55 to $7.25/hour.

You can read more at KSAT 12's Money page here.

Austin Attorney withdraws from Williamson County teen sex case

A Williamson County teen who pleaded guilty to attempted sexual assault after having consensual sex with a 13-year-old girl when he was 17 was back in court Wednesday to say goodbye to his attorney.

Jean Karlo Ponzanelli had pleaded guilty to the reduced charge despite his claim the girl had lied to him about her age. He was given probation but was also placed on the state's sex offender registry.

As a result, he was forced to quit school and move out of his mother's home. He also had difficulty keeping a job.

So he was rearrested, and now the state wants to revoke his probation and send him to prison.
