Kirkpatrick, 30 of Carmi, Ill., showed no emotion as Circuit Judge David Frankland sentenced her to three years in prison on four of the eight convictions of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and a consecutive four years of probation on the remaining counts.

Kirkpatrick, of Carmi, Ill., could face between three and seven years in prison on each of eight felony convictions of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a student.

He was a 50-year member of Ridgeway Masonic Lodge 816 in Ridgeway, Ill., and was a Korean War veteran.

Officers say the man was captured on surveillance video Aug. 10 of last year at a remote location in Twigg Township in rural Hamilton County, Ill.

Cleveland, a White County native, joined the Carmi Times in 1972 as a sports writer and except for a four-year absence in the late 1970s, has been on the staff since that time.
