Wrong made right? Wright made wrong. Just because his mother paid back the money doesn't excuse what he done. He would have been required to pay it back in restitution anyway. He needs to be held accountable for the crime he committed.

It's not like he is a Metro Strike Gang Force policeman and broke the law, of course he is going to be punished.

Good going mom.. Did he learn anything? NOT... You bailed him out. Let him do it himself next time, because there will be a next time. Wake up.

are you implying that we would have otherwise thought that someone else's mom paid? please... it was a nice gesture but it's time for sonny boy to take responsibility for his own actions.
did the lawyer for the thief sanction that payment? cause by paying it back, they have just admitted guilt.

What idiot wrote this story? Of course the guy was charged anyway. He committed a crime! And HE wasn't the one who paid the money back.

Personally if I had a son who did that to someone I'd be darned if I would pay the money back. I'd tell my son, you did the crime now you do the time.

I don't get the headline. Why wouldn't the creep be charged? Paying back is the right thing to do, but so is being a man and dealing with the punishment.

I'm sure the 71 year old woman wasn't traumatized by someone grabbing $400 from her hands. It probably just reinforced her trust in others and will make her even more willing to go out in public. The poor boy is the victim, because society doesn't accept him for what he is...a person who victimizes the vunerable and expect his mother to bail him out.

Oh come on! He's a kid. Yes, he needs to be punished, but lets not saddle him with a felony for the rest of his life. Picking up trash along the highway, or helping elderly people seems more appropriate

Are you effing kidding me? "He's a kid"?!?! he's 24 years old, whose mommy has been coddling him his whole adult life i'm sure....how do you think he turned out to be the way he is now? he robbed a senior citizen of her money. F him, slap him with both felonies and let him face the music, thats what he gets. I hope this is a wake up call to mom.
good luck....

24 years old is not a kid. The man should be saddled with a felony record because that is what he is. He did, the victim id'ed him, the video tape shows him doing it, he's a felon. Saddle the SOB with the felony record and maybe the pr&ck will grow up.

Sorry but he's a worthless pile of sh&t and needs to be locked up.

I'm not saying don't punish him, just that a felony seems harsh for a young first time offender. Sure, give him jail, community service and such, but a felony isn't going to help anyone here... I think he will get the message with a gross mis. And yes he is a kid. Men don't show up with mommy

If you think this is his first felony you're nutz, he got cuaght commiting a felony, he is now a felon, and should be treated as such. What if the victim was your mother or grandmother?....

It may be true that he's done it before, but sans evidence the courts shouldn't speculate. It just strikes me as harsh to be charged with a felony for a non-violent crime involving only $400. And to face 10 years for this? Rapists get less time.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Cancer

You've had enough time to yourself lately. This is a day to focus on family, with all the good and bad that that brings. Crabs would much rather be at the top of the tree than down near the roots, but that's life. You might be smart when it comes to matters of the heart, but you don't know it all quite yet.
