The Ontario County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that it has completed its investigation of the crash involving Tony Stewart and Kevin Ward, Jr. The Ontario County Office of Sheriff has completed its investigation into the death of Kevin A. Ward, Jr., which occurred August 9, 2014, at the Canandaigua, New York, Motorsports Park. The entire thorough investigation, including a forensic video enhancement recently received from the New York State Police Laboratory in Albany, has been submitted to the Office of the Ontario County District for review.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has launched an investigation into alleged threats a Kentwood man made against Veterans Affairs employees last week, saying he wanted to attack a VA office with a loaded gun. A department inspector claims William Wheeler told a VA Crisis Center dispatcher "that he was angry about having his Veterans Affairs disability benefit increase denied that he intended to injure employees at a Veterans Affairs Office that he was willing to 'take himself out as well.'

East Bloomfield crash causes power surge, fire in Canandaigua
A car crash on County Road 30 in East Bloomfield this morning caused a power surge that led to a small fire at a home on North Bloomfield Road. According to our news partners at Messenger Post Media, Canandaigua Fire Chief Mark Marantette said the power surge started a small fire in an electrical panel at 226 North Bloomfield Road, but was extinguished quickly upon the fire department's arrival.
