SCE&G holds forum to discuss coal ash landfill

I have done research on Coal Ash poisoning ground water. We all have wells out here so this is worth doing some serious research. I have not heard when or if another meeting is scheduled.There is a list of the 100 most dangerous power plants and the one in Canady's is amoung them.You can find it on the Web.There was also a front page Article on this a few years ago in the News and Courier. I did an essay on the report,it is scary.

Government, university and independent studies reveal the following sources of mercury emissions:

US power plants 41-48 tons per year TPY
US forest fires 44 TPY
Human cremation 26 TPY
Chinese power plants 400 TPY
Volcanoes, sea vents, geysers etc. 9,000-10,000 TPY

The CDC, which monitors blood mercury levels in US women and children, found that levels steadily decreased from 1999 to 2008. The levels are well below the EPA safe level, which itself is three times higher than the WHO international safe level. No American children are even remotely at risk from mercury.

While it is true that emissions often encroach on EPA's heavy metal limits, what is not said is that EPA repeatedly lowers those limits far below any valid health concerns, but rather to advance its war on fossil fuels. Remember when Clinton cut the aqueous arsenic limit by 90% on his last day in office? It is politics, not science!

And the claim that cancers are "so high around coal plants" is patently false. Give your citation.

Coal is simply organic matter. Take a few tons of fresh organic matter, hay/brush/trees, burn to ash and test, You will find mercury, lead, arsenic and other metals. Gather a ton of garden produce and burn to ash. You will find mercury, lead, arsenic and other metals. Take a ton of garden soil and test, you will find mercury, lead, arsenic and other metals.

Coal ash is an excellent fertilizer. Forestry companies could be using it in their plantations to boost growth. Gardeners could use to stop cut worms damaging their plants. Farmers could use on many different crops.

There are many other uses for coal ash. The TVA could bag and sell coal ash as a soil supplement/conditioner.

The head of the EPA is a progressive and it's employees are progressives. They, believing that the end justifies the means, will lie. Just as they have lied before, Freon 12.

The EPA needs to be told...NO!
