UK Beats Campbellsville 74-38

Full story: WLEX-TV Lexington

UK might have won by 74-38, but if you love Campbellsville, it not only was a moral victory for them, they will tell their grandkids about the night they slugged it out with the Cats at Rupp.

Embarrassing.......... Did the above article say something about a moral victory?

LOL

The game should have never been scheduled.

More then likely Campbellsville college exploited their basketball players for money.

How much money would one take to exploit and embarrass these young people on television.
no thanks

What gets me is that I see things everywhere about Campbellsville University and the Louisville Campus. You would think they would at least sell out to Louisville since it appears they are in business together. CU will do anything to make itself look bigger and more important than they are.

Everybody but Mammy is so negative. IT WAS AN EXIBITION GAME PEOPLE! This was an awesome thing for CU. The exposure and recruiting tool for Coach Adkins. Play for me and you get to play in Rupp Arena. That's a dream come true for a lot of young men who will never play D1 ball. It wasn't an embarrassment for anyone, it was a fabulous experience. And we'll take their money for our athletics programs, why not? They were going to pay somebody, why not bring it to Campbellsville? Why can't you people look on the bright side of anything? Grip and complain all the time.

If they had shot a better percentage the first half it whould have been a much closer game. I am proud of CU and I also am a big UK fan. I hope they get to play each other again sometime.

Campbellsville has played NCAA teams before in exhibition games. The past two years they played the Arkansas Razorbacks and some smaller NCAA schools.

It is good experience for the players because they are playing "up" against way more talent than they will see all season long.

Sure, the school made some money. And in this day and time when it costs so much to travel to away games, what's wrong with that? They probably made enough to cover the travel to away games for the season.

I think everyone realistically knew there was no chance for CU in this game. But many of the kids on CU's team will never have the chance to play in front of 21,000 people at one time, and maybe not even total for the season.

In past years Lindsey Wilson & Georgetown have both played UK. Georgetown, Pikeville and Lindsey have all played UofL. All exhibitions. All got paid....nothing wrong with any of it.

No one was exploited. The money paid will go into the men's basketball budget to offset costs for this season.

I guess you would not have given Le Moyne a fighting chance against Big East power Syracuse last night. It was only an exhibition and a money game for Le Moyne, but guess who won? It wasn't Syracuse.

Bradley10 - Were you molested as a child? Were the last child chosen for any sports team? I'm trying to help you figure out what your problem is. It must come from something back in your childhood that has festered to make you into the man you are today. Go see a shrink - you need help.

I could not have said that better, very positive post, and I thought you was very wise with your words! Team spirit is good, but gets the best of some people, and we should all realize that this is a game for spectators, but a challenge for players, some revenue, and they all tie together. We should be proud of both teams, and I personally wish them both the BEST!!

Although the national televised game was an embarrassing and humiliating 40 point lost for the players the school more then likely cashed in big.

What are the players suppose to get out of this?

If I understand correctly Campbellsville college is not even in the same division as the University of Kentucky.

Ever heard of Chaminade? Probably not, by your post, you have no concept of as to why this game was played. It was a positive for both teams and this community.

$$$$$$$$$$ Very positive to the community and most of all to the ball players.

I'm sure the players can look forward to a good season now.

1. Lesson learned money talks. And UK didn't even have their star player playing in the game.

2. Campbellsville doesn't want a rematch.

30 points of offense for a basketball game is pitiful.

Campbellsville a good ball team but not against teams in a higher division.
