City Council approves 2014 tax rates

Campbellsville City Council members gave final approval of the tax rates on real and personal property at a special meeting on Monday. The tax rate for real and personal property was set at .193 cents per $100 of assessed value.

Campbellsville Firefighters Hurt in Ice Bucket Challenge

The two Firefighters that were hurt during the Ice Bucket Challenge at Campbellsville University are still in the hospital, but the Campbellsville Fire Chief says both men are showing signs of improvement. Fire Chief Kyle Smith released an update saying Firefighter Alex Quinn is improving daily and remains in good spirits, his condition is listed as stable.

Fire chief gives update on firefighters injured in ice bucket challenge mishap

The Campbellsville fire chief, Kyle Smith, released a statement on Sept. 10 giving an update on two firefighters, Tony Grider and Alex Quinn, who were injured in an ALS ice bucket challenge at Campbellsville University on Aug. 21. The families of both firefighters, according to Smith, said they would like to thank everyone for the support they have received; they also wanted to thank the firefighters who have been at the hospital since the accident.

Some 1,000 attend 2014 Homeplace on GR Fall Festival

In spite of predictions of rain and a number of competing events Saturday, about 1000 people attended the 2014 Fall Festival, at Homeplace on Green River, which included live music all day, arts and craft sales and a variety of family activities. The Festival is an annual event scheduled for the Saturday after Labor Day each year.
