Hearing set in W.Va. cow starvation case
A Marshall County man accused of allowing more than a dozen cows on his farm to starve will be back in court later this month.
BERESFORD, James Elwood, 87, of Cameron, W.Va., passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012 in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, W.Va. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, served in the 114 infintry, 44th Division, K. Company, Battle of Bulge; a Bronze star recipient.

Man Faces 16 Counts of Animal Cruelty in Cattle Case
A Cameron man accused of allowing 16 cows to starve to death on his farm was arraigned last week while the remaining cows were transported to another Marshall County farm.
The Marshall County Board of Education denied a formal request from The Intelligencer to obtain an outside audit conducted following the discovery of financial irregularities at Cameron High School.
