Edward Irl Rendleman was born August 12, 1919, in Detroit, Mich. At the age of six weeks old, his family moved to West Saratoga Springs, Ill., where he would grow up and attend school.

He served in the United States Army in World War II, where he received a Purple Heart.

More than 200 students, family and colleagues celebrated the contributions of several retiring West Kentucky Community and Technical College employees during a reception Friday, April 20 in the Clemens Fine Arts Student Center and Theatre.

Bob Louden, a salesman at Kentuckiana Yacht Sales in Gilbertsville, told The Paducah Sun that as gas prices rise, his customers tend to purchase smaller vessels.

Mr. Kemp graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering.
