El Centro Sector Border Patrol Take Down Drive-Thru Attempt in Desert
Today, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector prevented a drug smuggling attempt resulting of a seizure of 937 pounds of marijuana. The incident occurred at around 1:47 a.m., when camera operators spotted a 2001 Dodge Durango heading north across the United States/Mexico boundary.

2 men leave car full of marijuana at border
Border Patrol agents say they found 937 pounds of marijuana in a vehicle that two men abandoned after moving a barricade and entering the United States. The Border Patrol tells the Imperial Valley Press that agents watched two men on camera early Tuesday as they moved a barricade and came across the border west of Calexico.

Deported Child Sex Abuser Caught at CA-Mexico Border
Felony sex offender and 43-year-old Guatemalan national Osmar Acevedo, convicted in Los Angeles County of acts with a child and previously deported, was recently caught attempting to illegally re-enter the U.S. through the southwest border in a mountainous area outside Calexico, California.

El Centro Sector Border Patrol Agents Arrest Criminal Gang Member - 21st this Fiscal Year
Friday, U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Calexico station apprehended another dangerous gang member from the "Surenos 13" criminal street gang while making an illegal entry into the U.S. A total of 21 gang members have been arrested in El Centro Sector's area of operation this fiscal year.

CBP Officers Find Cocaine Inside Rocking Horses, Seize Pills, U.S. Currency
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the local ports of entry over the weekend foiled three attempts to smuggle 29 pounds of cocaine hidden in two wooden rocking horses, 752 prescription pills concealed in clothing, and $382,749 in unreported U.S. currency that was bound for Mexico.
