Consolidation Would Not Raise School Taxes
The proposed consolidation of the Byers and Petrolia school districts is apparently stirring up some confusion in parts of Clay County.

Both the Petrolia and Byers districts are pushing for consolidation, but some residents might not be on board with the plans.

Pending what is projected to be a favorable public vote May 12, Byers and Petrolia Independent School Districts will consolidate later this summer and begin preparations for the influx of new students into the Petrolia facilities.
