'Growing for Profit' targets farmers
Farming in Florida is contributing less to the statewide economy as the state diversifies and grows. But the industry's small-farm roots in the Sunshine State are alive and well, and the University of Florida is planning its second annual conference to help nourish the sector.
AGRItunity 2008, the annual conference and trade show designed for farmers large and small, but primarily small, is scheduled for Jan. 26 at the West Central Florida Agricultural Center near Bushnell, west of Orlando 'Growing for Profit' is the theme this year, and planning committee members said they hope to attract hundreds to the conference and trade show, which debuted last December.
