Accident temporarily shuts down U.S. 281 north of Burnet

Troopers on May 15 began opening a stretch of U.S. 281 about 5 miles north of Burnet after a two-vehicle accident shut it down for about 90 minutes.

Because of recent rains, The Relay for Life event formerly scheduled to take place this evening, May 11, at Bulldog Stadium of Burnet High School has now been moved to the Burnet Community Center.

Primary election early voting starts May 14

Early voting in Burnet is from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, May 14-18, 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 19; and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, May 21-25. Early voting in Burnet County is at the Courthouse, 220 S. Pierce St.
