According to the Malone Telegram, Burke may build a new town hall. The current building being used is not very handicapped accessible and is not energy efficient as it should be. The town has asked an engineer to look into possible grants through the SUNY Plattsburgh Economic Development Assistance Center and to look at other local sources for funding. The new building may include a fireproof room for town documents, geothermal heating, offices for town officials, a kitchenette, and a general use room for youth activities and general meetings.

Burke man charged with 3rd degree rape
MALONE — Michael Feimann Jr., 33, Burke, was charged with third-degree rape after a domestic dispute Tuesday morning involving an unidentified female living in the village, Malone police said. He was arraigned in Malone Village Court and sent to Franklin County jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. No further information was released.
