The long backup and stop-and-go traffic that followed Thursday morning's fatal tractor-trailer crash in Botetourt County took a second life in a crash 16 hours later in Rockbridge County.

Vehicles were held up for more than 8 miles on I-81 at one point. "It's been at least 10 years since we've had a wreck that's created chaos like this," said Jason Ferguson, battalion chief of Botetourt County Emergency Services.

Two tractor-trailer wrecks have occurred near mile marker 167 and have closed all lanes of Interstate 81 in Botetourt County.
