The long backup and stop-and-go traffic that followed Thursday morning's fatal tractor-trailer crash in Botetourt County took a second life in a crash 16 hours later in Rockbridge County.

I-81 wreck in Buchanon responsible for 1 death, lengthy delays

Vehicles were held up for more than 8 miles on I-81 at one point. "It's been at least 10 years since we've had a wreck that's created chaos like this," said Jason Ferguson, battalion chief of Botetourt County Emergency Services.

Early-morning fire damages Troutville market

Fire damaged a Troutville market early this morning. The Virginian Markette was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived around 4:30 a.m., said Scott Paderick, chief of the Troutville Volunteer Fire Department.
