District on verge of closing

I recetly was back to my home town of Stewart, MInnesota. I went by old school. It stood empty, I was struck by how had it was that this perfectley good building Stood empty! The school Board members got their way, the Mcleod West school disrict got moved to Brownton. and a sub-standard building. Due to their bad decsions, parnets have chosen to send their children to other districts.

As I stood in front of the empty school that day, the flag pole had no flags, the playground was empty. The halls of the school where silent.i closed my eyes, and so memories came flooding back, of teachers, school mates, friday football games, tests, the lunches. the moment was bitter-sweet. No more such memories would be made.
