Sheriff's deputies and rescue personnel were credited with saving the life of a young girl after they lifted her mother's wrecked van from atop her after a two-vehicle crash Sunday night.

An accident Sunday night in Brooks sent four people to the hospital. Police say a van driven by Andrea Clifford of Brooks was hit at the intersection of Bog Road and Route 139 by a pick-up driven by John Pelletier of Unity.
