Brooks man dies in Hwy. 16 car crash

A former deputy for the Yolo County Sheriff's Department was killed in an auto accident on Highway 16 in the Capay Valley on Thursday just before noon, the California Highway Patrol reported.

It was the Capay Valley Volunteer Fire Department that responded and ran the call with assistance from the Rumsey Rancheria Fire Department and CalFire. It is an important distintion since the volunteers like to be recognized as well.

Good for you, Clay, for giving credit to your guys. Credit should be given where due, especially to volunteers. It was right of you to remind the author of the article to get the details accurate, especially where recognition of the volunteer firefighters is concerned.
