I was at a town meeting afew years back where Howard Lasser was presiding on the Board of Finance. I have never and I mean never (and I am old) seen a person who was so rude and disrespectful to residence sking questions. He is the most condensating persopn I have ever seen. Care for the town Howard, try being a
bit more polite for the citizens of Brookfield. You'll never have my vote.

You must have been at the same meeting I was at. Or it could be any meeting that Howard is at. I have noticed a "It's all abotu me" attitude.

Very high self-esteem will do that. I'm not so sure he could run on the same ticket as Davidson... not enough air in that room!

As a former director for Planned Parenthood Board of Directors, and for a time, it's treasurer, you can be sure he will be telling, not asking you. You can't get an entire question out before he's already three sentences into his retort. That plus he avoids eye contact, a dead giveaway.

As a former Brookfield resident I have had the pleasure of encountering Howard on a personal and a civic level. An opinionated man for certain, he is a man who will tell it to you straight and not pull any punches. Unlike other politicians, with Howard you can be sure of where he stands, and you can be sure he will do everything he can to pursue what is right for the town, not just make promises and then toe the line.
While those commenting above me have clearly had their feelings hurt, they are focusing on what Republicans seem to love to focus on, personal attacks. Take a look at where he stands on the issues, and his record of accomplishing what he starts, and you'll know that this is a good candidate for Brookfield.

Howard is a hard worker, but when he speaks of bringing people together....he ONLY wants those who think and talk exactly like him. If you disagree with him, he will be personal, he will be nasty, he will be loud, and he will be insulting. His inability to work with others got him voted off the Board of Finance years ago - where he only was allowed to sit because of minority representation.
Electing Howard to the Board of Selectmen will only strengthen the divisiveness. He does nothing to bring people together.

Is this the same Howard Lasser who (with Rick Amorossi) conspired to receive mail addressed to a former First Selectman?? We call it "identity theft." And he has the moxie to run for public office?

No, they were exonerated. The court found they did not steal identity and did not invade privacy. The lawsuit was a joke and three levels of court pretty much said so. End of story.

However, Howard still can't work with others who think differently than him.

To me, he's always come across as a reasonable guy. Has anyone else noticed that the Brookfield school system seems to lose more services, classes, specials, and teachers every year? Is that why people move to this town? I don't think so. We need to attract young families to Brookfield, and decimating the school system and town services is not the way to do that.

These are tough economic times. I'm glad Howard is willing to step up to the plate to run. With his business & board of finance experience, he will help guide the town through the crisis.

Buy a clue, please. Howard is a merely a tax and spend E-litist blowhard just like his friend Carol, who have no interest other than serving their massive shallow egos. They have no interest in the taxpayers and residents, other than taking their money and squandering it on bloated feel-good programs that do nothing to enrich our students and community.

You just have to worry that the organization he was treasurer for, and served as a director on it's Board of Directors, doesn't take space in the Stiener's Cornfield Center for an abortion clinic. The way they are trying to raise the grand list in Brookfield, anything is possible. Hey, there's another candidate that announced that he's running that thinks Off Track Betting is the cat's meow. Maybe they'll take another building in the Cornfield. Think of the possibilities. Besides, one of the Cornfield's owners is Howard Lasser's next door neighbor, not that that makes any difference, right?

He would also win the Rick Moranus (Ghostbusters New York City Accountant) look-alike contest. Shades of Gozar the Barbarian, the keymaster.

Say what you will folks, but because of the minority representation rule, at a minimum, either Howard or Bill will be on the Board of Selectman!

I found your statements very interesting. I doubt if you have ever been at a meeting where Howard Lasser was either on a board or speaking. "he is a man who will tell it to you straight and not pull any punches." You are right here it is Howard's way or the road. He is a very rude man who's focus is not on the town but on Howard. It's all about Howard Lasser. All about what Howard Lasser wants no matter what or how he goes about getting what he wants.
"While those commenting above me have clearly had their feelings hurt, they are focusing on what Republicans seem to love to focus on, personal attacks." I am a Democrat, and unfortunately have seen Howard at this level also, I am ashamed. Also
there have never been any feelings hurt though Howard is good at this also, again it's always about what Howard wants not the good of the town. I want a man of integerity in
office in Brookfield I do not want to call this town Crookfield. I do not see that happening with Howard Lasser running. I have taken a look at where Howard Lasser stands and his non accomplishments. I have also taken a look at things like character. He is not the man I will vote for. We need people of integerity not has beens

What a choice Howard or Bill. When they were on the finance committee Bill was the chairman but acted like Howard's stooge. What a shock. Bill has changed parties. He never was a Republican, his company contributed $500 twice to the Democratic congressman Maloney.Howard is a different story he is the guy that criticised Marty for serving his country. If they get in both the vets and the elderly will lose any benefits they now receive.

I believe he criticized Foncello for lying about the terms of his service so that he would not have to resign his position, which i think any resident would be well within their right to do so.

Yeah, the whole identity theft argument is such a farce, I wish everyone would focus on the issues. 3 courts ruled that there was a clerical error - not identity theft. A CLERICAL ERROR. Given some of the grammar and spelling mistakes on this comment board, you'd think more people would understand the problem...
