BRONSON, Fla. - The Florida Highway Patrol is advising motorists to consider alternate routes along several northern Florida roadways because of smoky conditions.

Park spokeswoman Vickie Carson says 67-year-old William Larry Martin of Bronson, Fla., became ill in the River Hall portion of the cave, about a mile-and-a-half into the tour.

The tour guides called their supervisor on the surface for help and immediately began CPR.
