A much-needed service. Thank you, Mayor McCloud! Nice to see this finally come together for the residents, businesses, Police Dept., and the community.

The police department can take reports in their cars-that's what their computers are for. The city maintains they will have to lay police officers off if their tax levy does not pass and they are going out paying $200/month rent for a space that is not staffed around the clock and is not needed. A review in a few months will confirm this if the This Week paper does some checking. This is just another example of Mayor McBoobs' incompetence but then what would one expect from someone whose mom always bought the houses he lives in for him.

Interesting comments from Mr. Shuck, obviously a McCloud supporter. The substation was not requested by the police department and the purchase order, even though the expenses for this rent come from the police department budget, was signed by the mayor. McCloud-why don't you and Chief Suciu kiss and make up then let him run the police department? As another pointed out, hopefully someone goes back in a few months and checks the statistics which will show this "sub-station" will have absolutely no impact on crime in the area.

The substation is not needed at this location any more than any other location. Let's let the druggies and criminal element dictate where and when we have our cities finest there.$2400 per year could be saved if the city really needed the money. We are very fortunate that we have good officers that respond to calls wherever they come from. Let the Chief run the Police Department. This is just an election ploy by the mayor to appear as if he is doing his job. By the way, is anyone serious running against the mayor?

Daily Horoscope for May 29

Leo

You're talking non-stop and rushing around all over the place. Your heart is certainly in the right place, but your brain may be in the wrong gear. You are likely to be over-emotional about certain things and too close to whatever it is that you want to talk about. Slow down and pause for thought every so often. It's a good idea to write out lists for yourself and tick off chores as they are done.
