Motorist killed in collision with sheriff's cruiser

A Canal Winchester man was killed last night when the car he was driving struck a Fairfield County sheriff's cruiser head-on. William S. New, 46, was driving south on Lithopolis-Winchester Road south of Waterloo Road shortly before 9 p.m. when his car crossed the center line on a curve and hit the cruiser, the State Highway Patrol said.
