The West Virginia Board of Education will be heading to McDowell County Wednesday to meet with the board of directors of the "Reconnecting McDowell" public-private partnership to discuss education improvement initiatives for the county.

Supporters of the Reconnecting McDowell initiative say they expect a $9.7 million investment in new Internet connections to eventually pay dividends in the struggling school system.
