A heart-warming story on a very cold day- Christmas presents came a little early in Bradleyville.

Students attending Taneyville and Bradleyville schools received an unexpected vacation this week as both rural schools were closed due to a rapid drop in attendance brought on by the flu.

Two more schools in the Ozarks are closing because of widespread flu-like illnesses.

Bradleyville schools will be closed the rest of the week because of high absenteeism.

The residents of Bradleyville say they have always taken care of each other, a fact that won't change now that the village will disband.

It seems plenty of people want to live in Bradleyville, just not the Village of Bradleyville.

Turnout is expected to be relatively light in the handful of special elections across the Ozarks today.

The village of Bradleyville was incorporated in 2002 for one reason. 'The purpose was to get a sewer system in there,' said Leon Combs, who lives near the village and worked to get it incorporated.
