Winter part of Security Forces with Air Guard
From Hull to Saudi Arabia, via Cedar Falls and Nevada, Mike Winter has seen a lot since he graduated from Boyden-Hull in 2001.
The son of Dale and Betty Winter, from Boyden, he joined the 185th Air Refueling Wing, part of the Iowa Air National Guard, located in Sioux City, in 2003.
It's been a good association.
The Air Force has provided benefits for college and last May Winter graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Finance and Real Estate.
Entering the Guard, Winter chose the area of Security Forces, which is the Air Force version of Military Police. "I love it," he stated. "I like being part of security and getting to handle cool weapons."
