Judge disputes claims in Bovina harrassment suit

A Bovina municipal judge has asked a federal judge to dismiss a civil rights lawsuit nine Hispanic residents filed against the city, its ex-police chief and other officials, alleging they hatched an "illegal scheme" to harass Hispanics and extort money from them to fill city coffers.

Friona man killed in single vehicle accident east of Bovina on U.S. Highway 60

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the driver of a 1996 Mack truck was killed Friday afternoon after his truck overturned in a ditch north of U.S. Highway 60 in Parmer County.
