Jenette Nelson of Stanley sensed when her daughter, Ann, was killed in the World Trade Center collapse that destiny would turn it into something good.

Joseph Pastva Sr., Willow City, died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at the home of his son in East Brunswick, N.J. He was 59.

Trevor Beyer, a son of Erwin A. and Nora Beyer, was born May 29, 1930, at Bottineau.

Jeffrey Wayne Block was born July 28, 1960, at Bottineau. He was the son of Darrell and Kathy Block.

May was born in Stavanger, Norway, on Feb. 26, 1918, the daughter of Alf Georg and Christine Wigen.

Erling was born Aug. 22, 1919, at Upham, a son of Olafur S. and Sigrid Freeman. His early childhood was spent in the Upham area where several Icelandic families had settled.
