Residents throughout the Lakes Region are gathering once a month to enjoy what would normally seem like an unlikely pairing: drinks and science.

Fifty-four-year-old Anne Roberts of Ferrisburgh and 52-year-old Rebecca Earle of Bomoseen were arrested Wednesday and charged with violating the federal health care fraud law.

A former park ranger is charged with stealing from Bomoseen State Park. Vermont State Police said Friday that John Robert Davine, 28, of Rutland, had been cited Thursday for grand larceny, a felony.
