“NO AMNESTY FOR LAW BREAKERS!” Since: Aug 08
In the Battle-Warren ISP: Modesto, CA |
There's only one bar in Bolinas.
But I imagine being stuck in Smiley's might seem like Prison to some. |

I think we can all agree this dirt bag should never see the light of day. I'm all for forgiving some bad things people do in their youth, but beating 80 year old women to death with a hammer isn't one of them. Should've gotten the needle long ago...

Awww....beating an 80 year old woman to death with a hammer then setting her house on fire at the tender age of 19. So sad. He just made a bad choice. It's all society's fault.
And, uh, I'm sure he was a good son. It irks me that someone who committed such a heinous crime is even up for parole. |

so how come he only got murder in the second?
sounds like murder one with arson so felony murder must have been a liberal jury so we have had to feed house and cloth this vermin for years if you want more funds for schools start executing scum like this |

This is just the kinda guy who, if he gets out, may wind up at Hotel Carmel or one of these shelters. The potential victims will have no legal right to know how whacked he really is.

Just 15 years to life? Wow.
Of course, Edward Schaefer murdered Melody Osheroff and maimed her father. What's he facing? 17 to life? This judicial system has something seriously wrong with it. |

I thought this crime happened in Forest Knolls.
Does anyone remember the details? |

Found it. It's a different 19-year old west marin killer.
Killer of elderly neighbor loses latest parole bid Staff Report Posted: 05/04/2008 11:03:27 PM PDT A Lagunitas man convicted in the 1986 beating death of his 70-year-old neighbor has been denied parole for a fourth time. Sean DeRutte, an inmate at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville, is serving 15 years to life for the murder of Jane Ross, a widowed school secretary who had befriended him. Ross was found floating face-down in her bathtub on Sept. 21, 1986. Police said she had been beaten, cut, sexually assaulted and left to die. DeRutte, then 19, was arrested after police linked him to a bloody palm print found at the scene. He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, sparing him a sentence of 25 years to life. A parole board rejected DeRutte's bid for release during a recent hearing in Vacaville, ordering him to remain behind bars for at least four more years, said prosecutor Kathryn Mitchell. The parole board can extend a prisoner's term up to five years, but the maximum is generally reserved for murderers with multiple victims, Mitchell said. |
