Had she joined her husband in the other line, there probably would not have been an issue, I see people do this all the time, although it is still wrong to cut in line. She should have to wait in line with everyone else. This still does not give the "law enforcement officers" the right to call her a "N" which they did, most do use racial slurs in St. Louis. This story will give Walmart and St. Louis a bad reputation based on the other websites I have seen it on and the negative feedback. The customer who put her hands on this suspect should be charged with assault, you cannot push someone simply because they are cutting in line. And yes race does become a factor since the suspect is black and we all know the customers, Walmart and the police used racial slurs. The parking lot incident would have been caught on Walmart's surveillance and if it the police did tackle this suspect as she was walking away and trying to leave the situation, she would have proof. There are 2 sides 2 every story, but we do know that someone "cutting in line" should not escalate to police brutality and the KKK getting involved. Those of us who were in the store heard and know what happened and this will come out in court.

This story will give Walmart and St. Louis a bad reputation...... Those of us who were in the store heard and know what happened and this will come out in court." QUESTION: Please explain how an incident that happened in KENNETT, MO will give St. Louis a bad reputation and what about St. Louis that "most use racial slurs" have to do with this incident.??!!?? Furthermore, IF "those of US who were in the store heard and know what happened....." HOW come you do NOT know where this incident took place?? Just Wondering.

I think it's funny that the prosecutor in her case quit a just a week or so two ago. I also find it rude how the police officer hand delivered to the KKK letter and card to her and her family in person. Protect and serve? Whatever. This happened at Walmart, and they claim they have video proof. Why hasn't then came out yet? They won't show it for some reason. Prob. because it's lies, and they are making it out to be more than what really happened.

What exactly is stupit? If you are going to attempt to give someone a lecture on intelligence, at least make sure the things you write make sense.

Look, she's facing felony charges for assaulting an officer, not for butting in line. Let's put it in perspective. I've represented several criminal defendants who were charged with assaulting a police officer in the course of their arrests. All of them were white. On more than one occasion, the arresting officer was black. My point is, no one cried racism when it was the other way around. You assault an officer, you get charged with felony assault. It's simple. White, black, or green, that's what happens. That the NAACP got involved or that racism was thrown into the story really tells me that racism isn't dead - but it's kept alive by blacks more than anything else. When was the last time you saw a story about a white person arrested by a black officer yelling about racism, or a special interest group holding rallies in favor of such a person?

I don't judge a person by the color of their skin. Whether I should or not, I judge a person by their ignorance that they display. If the Wal-Mart employee yelled racial comments at Miss Ellis then Wal-Mart needs to deal with that accordingly. If the police officer used racial slurs, then he needs to be dealt with accordingly by his superior officers and the city officers that are elected to office to take care of such matters that involve the city. Regardless of what was verbally said, if, and I stress IF because I wasn't there, IF she assulted the police officers she should be tried in a court of law like is happening. People need to realize there are 3 sides to every story. Your side, my side and the truth. This is why we have a Court of Law to determine the truth. I'm sure both sides are exaggerated and it gets more exaggerated everyday because of the publicity the story is getting. You have to admit, if Miss Ellis would have left the store when she was asked to and took up the matter of the store employee in the correct manner by taking herself out of the situation first and contacting the proper people to handle such incidences (Wal-Mart Corporate office) this would not be an issue. Not only did not leave like she was asked, she stayed long enough for the police to arrive. I guarantee you they were not waiting outside the front door. It had to have taken some time for them to arrive. Therefore it appears she would have stayed long enough to make Wal-Mart want to call the police and she was there long enough for them to arrive and arrest her. And I'm sure she wasn't calm as a cucumber the entire time otherwise the police would not have been contacted. The situation was handled carelessly by Miss Ellis before the police arrived. Any person, black, white or yellow, with any sense or maturity at all would have removed themselves from the situation before it escalated to the extent it did. They did not force her to stay in the store, they actually asked her to leave. She should have left. But, REMEMBER I do still believe if the store employee and the police officer used racial slurs toward Miss Ellis, they should be dealt and punished to the full extent with also. I have no tolerance for any discrimination whatsoever, race, religion, sex, etc.
