”Perps always hear our helicopters coming,” he said.(Sgt. Wayne Hanson)

I can agree on that point. Even the purple pot plants feel the earth vibrating when you fly over.

Govt funded CAMP? How much money are they funded and where do they get the money from exactly?
The money should be after the speed cookers and dealers!! You can smell that stuff cooking for days at a time, it doesn't take a brainer to figure out where it's being cooked at, yet the cops are never around for that!

Too bad they can't round up the rope-headed vagrants while they're at it. And the morons with the sideways baseball caps. And baggy pants.

Pot growers are not "innocent." These grows are on PUBLIC-USE land. Like the article said, what if someone's out hiking, ON PUBLIC LAND, and comes across a grow operation that someone has a vested interest in?

I really don't care for pot myself, and I don't care either if you want to smoke it or grow your own, but seriously, if you're going to do that, do it on your OWN plot, not OUR plot. It's PUBLIC land, not YOUR land, it's not fair that you think you can plant an illegal crop and expect to 'guard it' against innocent intruders (nature walkers). that's insane.

As you're smelling it why don't you report the smell to the cops. It's a drug smell and they can check it out. They'd love to bust the cookers and call out the hazmat team to clean it up. Properties have had to be condemned because the stuff seeps into the walls and flooring. Some of those idiots even have children living where they're cooking it. Some even end up blowing the place up.

the poor cops..........if they would find illegal plant growers, the judge lets them go to do it again.
Take the dealers and ones who are on dope off the street. but there again, the judges let them off.
Pot is what supports these communities so leave it alone. That's the American way now..........
America, as you can see, is sliding downward so fast , one can't keep up with it.
America now SUCKS.

Instead of CAMP flying around to bust garden's for $800 an hour i think that money should be spent removing all of our crackhead neighbor's through out Humboldt.

Why they get the money from China! They don't care much about speed...speed kills, and speed freaks carry weapons that they would actually use. Cannabis however provides a relatively safe form of "recreational" feel goodness. They don't like people having fun, if it isn't dangerous and bad for the health.

he said.“It costs $800 an hour for the helicopter, plus personnel.” What a freaking waste of money..... "The reason CAMP exists is to make sure it's safe,” he said.“What if someone goes nature hiking or something and walks onto one of these groves? That's why we're here.”.....If that is the only reason they're busting grows why not just legalize it. Ruin the market for pot, and nobody will be out in the hills growing it.

grwoing that many plants is illegal. That's why and if they have to grow that much, it is for profit which is GREED.
It is for sale to some people needing it but that is a drop in the bucket.
It is bad for ones health but I smoke and that's bad for my health.
I would wager a months salary that Obama's health plan will say if you smoke pot, cigarettes, cigars........you will get nothing in the way of health care .
That would go for booze etc. too.
what cha wanna bet?
and back to pot......some are Mexican's and who needs that and them in America?

I still find it laughable that pot gardens are confiscated all the time and rarely, very rarely do the HSCSO ever arrest anyone. If there was ever a source to trace the movement of the pot after harvest and sale it would be important to catch the growers and serve search warrant.

So why don't the police/sheriff take one more step? Who are they protecting or are they actually doing one group of growers a favor over another group?

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Gemini

Maybe it's pre-Christmas tension but people can turn nasty in the blink of an eye today. This is especially likely if they've got a lot on their plate or they think they're very important, and you may have to treat them with kid gloves if you want to avoid getting sucked into a bad-tempered war of words. Some gentle humor may help to rescue the situation before it descends into acrimony.
