Fisherman rescued off Block Island
The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a fisherman early Wednesday morning two miles west of Block Island after receiving a call from a commercial fishing boat, according to WPRI.com. The Coast Guard sent a 47-foot vessel to the New Bedford-based fishing boat Explorer to transport the injured fisherman to the Point Judith Coast Guard station.
