A Wisconsin trial court judge denied a motion to dismiss charges against a convicted pastor who instructed his church members to use wooden rods to spank misbehaving children, some as young as two months old.

MADISON -- A Dane County judge denied a motion to dismiss child abuse charges against a Black Earth pastor on Thursday, that's according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

Madison, WI. April 16, 2012 - At approximately 10:30 am, Dane County Sheriff's deputies, along with Middleton Fire and EMS, responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of CTH K and Highway 12 in the town of Springfield.

Jurors have convicted a Black Earth pastor of conspiracy to commit child abuse for advocating the use of wooden rods to spank children.

Attorneys mounted a defense on Monday in the Dane County trial of a church leader accused of persuading his followers to beat their infant children with wooden dowels.
