Cook-Off Planned This Weekend
The Penelope Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a cook-off Friday-Saturday, June 13-14, at the Penelope Church Grounds.
Annual Hill County Crops Tour Thursday
The 2013 Hill County Crops Tour hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be held Thursday, June 20. The program will include several presentations aimed at helping local producers take a little more to the grain bin and keep a little more money in their pocketbooks, according to extension Agent Ryan Collett.
Theft Suspects Held At Gunpoint By Neighbor
Two theft suspects were arrested after the Hill County Sheriff's Office was called to a location on Farm Road 339 between Mount Calm and Birome about 11:35 a.m. Friday, October 5. According to Deputy Tim Westmoreland, neighbors spotted suspicious activity near a building owned by Lee Nelson of Elm Mott.
