Billie Sol Estes, a West Texas millionaire, con man and friend of politicians, was found dead Tuesday morning at his home in DeCordova, daughter Pamela Padget said.

Estes, whose name became synonymous with Texas-sized schemes, greed and corruption, died in his sleep at his home in DeCordova Bend, a city about 60 miles southwest of Dallas,. Estes reigned in the state as the king of con men for nearly 50 years.

UPDATE 8:22 a.m. : A medic at the scene says the pedestrian will be transported to the hangar and taken to a hospital via Mercy Flight.

The Aldersgate Garden Club held its March 22 meeting at Cross Pointe Church of God.
