Lawmakers in Minnesota are considering legislation that would legalize the use of aerial fireworks in the state, which concerns South Dakota border communities.

A Minnesota man pleaded guilty to two counts of simple assault today and was sentenced to 30 days in jail for a barroom scuffle with several South Dakota state lawmakers.

A member of the South Dakota House has been moved to a new seat and has lost the privilege of speaking on the House floor as a result of his continuing dispute with legislative leaders.
